Efficiency measures how effectively energy is converted from one form to another or how well it performs its intended function. It is calculated by dividing useful output energy by input energy and multiplying by 100%.
Think of efficiency like using your phone charger. If it converts most of the electrical energy into charging your phone and only loses a small amount as heat, it would be considered highly efficient.
Energy Conversion: The process of changing one form of energy into another.
Renewable Energy Sources: Energy sources that can be replenished naturally within human timescales, such as solar or wind energy.
Non-renewable Energy Sources: Energy sources that are finite and cannot be replenished within human timescales, such as fossil fuels.
