Music notation is a system of writing down music using symbols and markings to represent pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and other musical elements.
Music notation is like reading sheet music as if it were a language. Just as letters combine to form words and sentences, musical symbols come together to create melodies and harmonies.
Staff: A set of horizontal lines where musical notes are placed.
Clef: A symbol at the beginning of each staff that determines which pitches correspond to which lines and spaces.
Time Signature: A symbol indicating the number of beats per measure and what type of note receives one beat.
