Definition

Placentation is the process and arrangement by which the placenta forms and attaches to the uterine wall, providing nutrient and waste exchange between the mother and the developing embryo or fetus. It is a critical aspect of mammalian embryonic development, ensuring proper growth and survival of the fetus.
