Definition
Modes refer to the values in a dataset that occur most frequently. In other words, they are the peaks or high points on a graph.
Analogy
Think of modes as the popular spots in your school cafeteria where students gather during lunchtime. These spots are crowded with many students because they are the most popular places to be.
