Gender Roles

Definition

Gender roles are societal expectations about how men and women should behave, which often define their responsibilities, rights, and social status based on their gender.

Analogy

Think of gender roles like assigned seats on a school bus. Society expects boys to sit at one side while girls sit at another side. However, if some boys decide to sit with girls or vice versa (challenging traditional gender roles), it disrupts this expected seating arrangement.
