Gender Equality

Definition

Gender equality refers to the state of equal ease of access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender, including economic participation and decision-making.

Analogy

Think of gender equality as a game of chess. It doesn't matter if you're playing with the white pieces or the black pieces; both players have an equal chance to win based on their skills, not their color (or in this case, gender).

Equal Opportunity: The policy of treating employees and others without discrimination, especially on the basis of their sex, race, or age. It’s like giving everyone an equal number of chances in a lottery draw.

Sexism: Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women. It’s like refusing someone entry into a concert because they don’t fit your preferred fan profile.
