Definition

Endemic species are those that are found exclusively in a specific geographic region and nowhere else on Earth. They have evolved unique adaptations to their local environment over time.

Analogy

Think of endemic species as celebrities who only live in one city or country. Just like these famous individuals can only be found in one place, endemic species can only be found in one specific geographic location.
