reuse assignments, similar questions, and more

november 2, 2026

Students can try a similar question after answering and get the page they want first in search. Teachers can reuse past assignments, and unscored work finishes scoring on its own.

For students

  • Try a similar question. After you answer a guided practice question, choose "Try similar question" for another one on the same topic and question type. Practice AP Bio
  • Search puts the right page first. Search shows the page you're after first more often, opens a unit when you type something like "apush 4", and matches word forms, so "mental maps" finds Mental Map.
  • See the FRQ points you need. AP score calculators now estimate how many free-response points you'd need for a 3, 4 or 5 at different multiple-choice scores. Try the AP Bio calculator
  • Code and symbols in FRQs. AP CSA answers use a code editor with monospace text, no spellcheck and Tab indents that stay put. The symbol menu adds xฬ„, pฬ‚ and ลท for AP Stats and โˆฎ, โŠ™ and โŠ— for physics. Try AP CSA

For teachers

  • Reuse a past assignment. Start a new assignment from one you've published, or choose "Assign again" to send it to more classes, with the same questions or new multiple-choice questions from the same units and skills. See the Teacher Workspace
  • Scoring finishes on its own. Assigned FRQs a student's browser never scored, and class sets you leave mid-scoring, now finish scoring without you. Anything still waiting shows as "Scoring pending" in your review queue, with a "Score with AI" button.
  • Assignments match exam conditions. Assigned FRQs have the calculator and reference sheet where the exam allows them. AP Calc exam presets split multiple choice into Part A without a calculator and Part B with one, and exam-preset FRQs use the real exam timing.
  • Filter by exam source or country. Filter history SAQs by their 2027 exam slot (secondary text, primary text or non-text), and AP Comp Gov multiple choice by country. You can also assign a single AP Seminar Part A question.

Content updates

  • New practice questions and FRQs. 1,654 new practice questions across 10 subjects, led by AP Biology (622), APUSH (608) and AP Gov (145), plus 87 new APUSH and AP World SAQs and 17 new FRQs across five subjects. Practice APUSH
  • Questions stay in their unit. A question that draws on several topics now shows up under the latest one it covers, in practice, unit tests and assignments, so an early-unit set doesn't include ideas from later units.
  • More consistent scoring. AP Lang, AP Art History and AP Calc FRQs are scored more consistently. AP Human Geography SAQ explanations earn the point for one accurate cause-and-effect link.

Fixes

  • World-language unit exams now include listening, AP Japanese written FRQs appear in Japanese with the full email, and a partly recorded Project Q&A can be submitted. Typed answers in assignments show as formatted text instead of raw code.
