assign frq parts, keyword quizzes, and more

october 19, 2026

Students can highlight passages in practice exams and read AP Chinese in Simplified or Traditional. Teachers can assign selected FRQ parts and build quizzes by keyword.

For students

  • Highlight passages in practice exams. Highlight text in multiple-choice passages and DBQ documents during an online practice exam. Highlights stay while you move between questions and work with a mouse or touch. Try an APUSH practice exam
  • Read AP Chinese your way. Pick Simplified or Traditional characters once, and study guides, guided practice, exams, FRQ practice and key terms all switch to match. Translated guides have one "Read in" control for English, Simplified and Traditional. Go to AP Chinese
  • Score predictions count full exams. Your predicted score now weighs completed full practice exams most heavily, and a tooltip shows what it's based on. Your FRQ history also shows every attempt, linked to each question. Open your practice dashboard
  • An 1860 map in Map It. APUSH students can pick an 1860 map of the United States, with challenges on free states, slave states and territories. Play Map It

For teachers

  • Assign only the FRQ parts you want. When you build an assignment from a multi-part FRQ or SAQ, tick the parts to assign. Students see, and are scored on, just those parts. See the Teacher Workspace
  • Build quizzes by keyword. Search the question bank by keyword and add multiple-choice questions one by one, or paste a list of up to 30 terms and fill the quiz a few questions per term.
  • Assign a unit review from the unit page. Unit pages now have an "Assign a Unit N review" card for teachers that opens a 20-question set for that unit, ready to assign.
  • Class periods are easier to manage. Move a student to another of your classes, and set a different deadline for each class. Students who open another period's link get a heads-up, and students are asked for their first and last name before starting.

Content updates

  • New practice questions. 608 new AP Psychology and 159 new AP Physics 2 practice questions. Practice AP Psychology
  • More consistent essay scoring. The complexity point on history essays, and the sophistication point on AP Lang and AP Lit essays, are scored more consistently. AP Calc and Precalc FRQs give credit for a decimal correct to three places, rounded or truncated.

Fixes

  • Students now see their teacher's written feedback once results are released, and retakes of reading assignments start at the first section with earlier answers filled in.
  • Math in study guide FAQs and unit-page FRQs shows as formatted math instead of raw code.
