themes, faster search, and more

Students can pick a color theme, search faster, and cross out answer choices in guided practice. Teachers can block pasting in assignments and save grading rules Fiveable suggests.
For students
- Pick a color theme. Use the palette icon in the top nav to switch study pages to a dark theme like Ink, a softer one like Notebook, or match your device. Try it on AP Bio
- Faster, smarter search. Search is three times faster, AP results show up first, and misspellings like "ap enviormental" still find what you meant. Search Fiveable
- Cross out answer choices. In guided practice, strike through choices you've ruled out before you answer, the same way you can on practice exams. Start guided practice
- A shorter diagnostic with feedback. A whole-course diagnostic is now about 12–20 questions, with an explanation after each answer, and it picks questions based on how you're doing. Take a diagnostic
For teachers
- Block pasting in student answers. Assignments now block pasting by default. You can allow it for one assignment in Settings, or for all of them in My defaults. See the Teacher Workspace
- Save the rules you already grade by. When you keep changing the same kind of score, like giving the evidence point for paraphrase, Fiveable suggests saving it as a grading standard.
- Diagnostics by course or unit. Assign a diagnostic for the whole course or specific units, then see a class summary with which units to reteach first and a button to build a practice set.
- Practice suggestions and results emails. Released results now show students what to practice next, and students get a results email. You can switch either off for any assignment.
Content updates
- AP Calc FRQs match their unit and course. Calc FRQs only use what's been covered by the unit they're in, and AB assignments leave out BC-only topics. Practice AP Calc
Fixes
- Practice exams no longer lose your answers when you resume, and the essay grader keeps your typed essay through a reload or sign-in.
- Drawings on FRQ canvases in assignments are saved and scored.
- AP Macro and AP Micro are back in the quiz builder and the guided practice subject picker.
