Propaganda

Definition

Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position by presenting only one side of an argument. It's often associated with governments and political groups.

Analogy

Think about propaganda like a movie trailer. The trailer shows you all the best parts, making you want to see the movie, but it doesn't show any of the boring or bad parts. Just like a movie trailer, propaganda only shows you what it wants you to see in order to influence your opinion.

Censorship: This is when information is suppressed or controlled by governments or other powerful entities. Imagine if someone kept changing the channel every time your favorite show came on because they didn't want you to watch it - that's censorship.

Persuasion Techniques: These are methods used to influence people's beliefs, attitudes, intentions, motivations, or behaviors. It’s like when your friend convinces you to try sushi for the first time even though you’re unsure about eating raw fish.
