Also known as Tamerlane, Timur was a Turco-Mongol conqueror in the 14th century who founded the Timurid Empire in Persia and Central Asia.
Think of Timur as a chess master. Just like a chess player plans his moves to control the board, Timur strategically conquered different regions to establish his own empire.
Timurid Empire: The empire established by Timur that spanned Persia, Central Asia, and parts of India.
Battle of Ankara: A significant battle fought between Timur and Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I in 1402 where Bayezid was defeated.
Samarkand: An important city in Uzbekistan that served as capital for many empires including the Timurid Empire.
