Definition

Textiles refer to materials produced by weaving, knitting, or felting. These materials can be used to make clothing, bags, towels, bedsheets etc.

Analogy

Imagine textiles as different types of bread. Just like there are many types of bread - whole grain, white, rye - there are also many types of textiles - cotton, silk, wool. Each type has its own unique properties and uses.
