Major 2nd

Definition

A major 2nd is an interval consisting of two adjacent notes with one whole step (two half steps) between them.

Analogy

Picture yourself taking two steps forward on stairs. Each step represents one half step, so when you take two steps forward, you've covered one whole step - just like a major 2nd interval.
