The nervous system is the body's command center, orchestrating everything from conscious thoughts to involuntary reflexes. It's made up of the brain, spinal cord, and a vast network of nerves that transmit signals throughout the body. Neurons, the system's primary functional units, work with glial cells to process and relay information. The central nervous system, consisting of the brain and spinal cord, processes and coordinates information. The peripheral nervous system connects the CNS to the rest of the body, controlling voluntary movements and regulating involuntary functions. Together, they enable our bodies to sense, think, and respond to the world around us.
