For West Virginia school districts

AP® resources for West Virginia schools

Specify the classroom purpose of West Virginia AP practice before county reviewers examine AI use, privacy documents, and purchasing needs.

Give your AP teachers a shared place to assign practice, review student work, and plan follow-up lessons. Start with the teachers who need accounts, then bring a quote and the requested documents to your school or district’s review process.

Plan accounts for your AP department

Fund teacher-led practice

Teacher accounts support assignments and classroom results. Students complete their teacher’s assignments with free accounts. List the courses and teachers you want to include, then choose quantities for one teacher, an AP department, or several departments together.

Choose independent study separately

Sponsored student accounts are optional for independent study beyond teacher-led assignments. Include them when your school wants to fund students’ use of the study library on their own. Teacher and student volume discounts are calculated separately in checkout.

Plan your department rollout

Identify who will receive the setup link and assign purchased accounts. Choose the teachers, courses, and start date for your first assignments. Teachers review scores and feedback, then use classroom results to plan follow-up practice.

Annual teacher pricing

1–4 teacher accounts
$129 each / year
5–24 teacher accounts
$99 each / year
25+ teacher accounts
$69 each / year

For example, five teacher accounts cost $495 per year. Students complete those teachers’ assignments with free accounts. Optional sponsored student accounts add a separate cost.

Distinguish classroom practice from other West Virginia AI uses

West Virginia’s education department distinguishes classroom instruction, school administration, and district operations in its AI guidance. It also provides a resource hub for county staff and educators. Describe the proposed instructional use so reviewers can evaluate teacher-led assignments and feedback directly.

  • Is the proposed use teacher-led AP practice, and which learning tasks and classroom decisions should reviewers see in the department’s example?

  • How will teachers communicate when students may use AI feedback and keep teaching, assessment, and final classroom grading decisions with educators?

  • Which county instructional and technology staff should review account use, student privacy, and vendor documents before the business office processes the request?

State the teaching purpose and account quantities in one request. Give county reviewers a practice sequence and the vendor questions needing answers.

From department plan to purchase

  1. Prepare an instructional plan and quote

Choose teacher quantities and any optional sponsored student accounts. Checkout calculates the annual price and lets you download a quote for your business office. Include the courses, quantities, and planned start date. Quotes are valid for 30 days, so check the date before your office issues a purchase order.

  2. Gather your district’s review packet

Ask your office which documents it needs, such as a signed W-9, privacy agreement, accessibility information, or security documentation. Include your district name and its required forms. The document request form opens an editable email draft; send that draft to submit your request.

  3. Complete the purchase and assign accounts

Your office can pay by card or arrange a purchase order using the quote ID. After Fiveable receives and reviews your PO, we send a setup link while your business office arranges payment. If you pay by card or bank transfer, we send the link after payment is confirmed. Use it to assign purchased accounts when teachers are ready.

West Virginia school purchasing questions

Students complete teacher-led assignments with free accounts. Purchase teacher accounts for the teachers who will assign work. Sponsored student accounts are optional for independent study beyond those assignments. Choose those quantities separately in checkout.

Specify the classroom purpose, teachers involved, and feedback routine. WVDE’s guidance covers instruction as well as administrative uses. A clear teaching example helps county reviewers identify the relevant privacy and technology questions before the business office completes its purchasing steps.
