Assign practice, review the grades, and plan your next lesson in Fiveable's Teacher Workspace.Choose AP Human Geography MCQs and FRQs from Fiveable's question bank, share the assignment, and review student work. Use responses to see how students interpret maps, apply geographic models, and explain spatial relationships.

Start with one class
Your first 3 assignments are included. No card is needed, and the allowance has no time limit or monthly reset. Each included assignment covers up to 120 AI-graded student responses. Students complete teacher assignments with free accounts and don't need a paid student subscription.
Move from naming a pattern to explaining it
College Board identifies data analysis, source analysis, spatial relationships, and scale analysis as course skills. Its FRQs ask students to describe, explain, and apply geographic ideas in a scenario. Choose practice with those tasks in mind.

| Practice focus | When choosing questions | What to review |
|---|---|---|
| Population and migration | Choose questions with demographic data or a migration scenario when those are available in the bank. | Does the student use the data to explain a population pattern, rather than repeating a value from the table? |
| Agriculture and urban land use | Select an FRQ that asks students to apply a geographic concept or model to a specific place. | Does the explanation connect the model to land use, location, or economic activity in the given scenario? |
| Development and geographic scale | Choose questions that compare places or ask how a pattern appears at different geographic scales. | Does the response explain how a national pattern may differ from patterns within individual regions? |
These are planning examples. Choose from the questions available in your course's bank.
Include practice across geographic scales. College Board's exam description says at least one FRQ assesses how students explain spatial relationships across scales.
College Board exam planning informationCheck how a geographic explanation uses the scenario
Suppose a response identifies rural-to-urban migration in a scenario. Look for the next connection. Does the student explain how employment opportunities, services, or another relevant process influence that movement? When the question supplies a map or data table, check whether the student uses information from it to support the explanation.
Scale gives you another useful review question. A national average can describe a broad pattern while hiding differences among regions. Ask what geographic unit the evidence represents and whether the conclusion fits that unit. If students recognize the vocabulary but overlook this distinction, choose an available map or data question that lets them practice interpreting the scale of the evidence.
Choose and share an assignment
Select your course and questions from Fiveable's existing bank. Publish the assignment and share its student link in Google Classroom or another LMS.
Review and release the grades
MCQs score on submission. FRQs receive AI first reads using Fiveable's scoring guidelines. Review the feedback, adjust points, and release grades yourself.
Use the responses to choose what comes next
A student can identify an urban model without explaining the spatial relationship in an FRQ. Review unit and skill insights alongside the response. Ask the class to connect a pattern, a geographic process, and the scenario before choosing the next bank question.

AP Human Geography teacher questions
You can build assignments with MCQs and geographic FRQs from Fiveable's existing question bank. Choose the questions that fit your lesson. Custom question authoring isn't available in the assignment builder.
Choose an existing scenario-based FRQ and review how students connect a geographic concept to that scenario. Look for explanations of the process or relationship. Naming a model or copying a map value may leave the actual explanation unfinished.
You do. Fiveable supplies an AI first read and point-by-point feedback using its own scoring guidelines. You review, adjust, and release grades because the grade is yours to stand behind.
