For South Dakota school districts

AP® resources for South Dakota schools

Identify who should access South Dakota students’ assignment work and how classroom records will be handled before introducing AP practice.

Give your AP teachers a shared place to assign practice, review student work, and plan follow-up lessons. Start with the teachers who need accounts, then bring a quote and the requested documents to your school or district’s review process.

Plan accounts for your AP department

Fund teacher-led practice

Teacher accounts support assignments and classroom results. Students complete their teacher’s assignments with free accounts. List the courses and teachers you want to include, then choose quantities for one teacher, an AP department, or several departments together.

Choose independent study separately

Sponsored student accounts are optional for independent study beyond teacher-led assignments. Include them when your school wants to fund students’ use of the study library on their own. Teacher and student volume discounts are calculated separately in checkout.

Plan your department rollout

Identify who will receive the setup link and assign purchased accounts. Choose the teachers, courses, and start date for your first assignments. Teachers review scores and feedback, then use classroom results to plan follow-up practice.

Annual teacher pricing

1–4 teacher accounts
$129 each / year
5–24 teacher accounts
$99 each / year
25+ teacher accounts
$69 each / year

For example, five teacher accounts cost $495 per year. Students complete those teachers’ assignments with free accounts. Optional sponsored student accounts add a separate cost.

Clarify access to student work in your South Dakota plan

South Dakota’s education department explains education-record privacy, including computerized records and third-party handling on behalf of schools. It also discusses access by school officials with a legitimate educational interest. Describe the people, classroom purpose, and information involved in the AP practice proposal.

  • What assignment work and classroom information will the proposed practice involve, and which district staff need that information for the intended teaching purpose?

  • How should our department handle access when teaching assignments change, and who will coordinate account questions with the district’s technology team?

  • Which vendor documentation and local procedures do privacy reviewers need to understand third-party handling of student work before the department introduces accounts?

Describe the classroom use and access responsibilities with the quote. Ask reviewers which documentation they need before teachers invite students to practice.

From department plan to purchase

  1. Prepare an instructional plan and quote

Choose teacher quantities and any optional sponsored student accounts. Checkout calculates the annual price and lets you download a quote for your business office. Include the courses, quantities, and planned start date. Quotes are valid for 30 days, so check the date before your office issues a purchase order.

  2. Gather your district’s review packet

Ask your office which documents it needs, such as a signed W-9, privacy agreement, accessibility information, or security documentation. Include your district name and its required forms. The document request form opens an editable email draft; send that draft to submit your request.

  3. Complete the purchase and assign accounts

Your office can pay by card or arrange a purchase order using the quote ID. After Fiveable receives and reviews your PO, we send a setup link while your business office arranges payment. If you pay by card or bank transfer, we send the link after payment is confirmed. Use it to assign purchased accounts when teachers are ready.
