For Minnesota school districts

AP® resources for Minnesota schools

Review AP resources with student thinking, human decisions, and district privacy expectations in view.

Give your AP teachers a shared place to assign practice, review student work, and plan follow-up lessons. Start with the teachers who need accounts, then bring a quote and the requested documents to your school or district’s review process.

Plan accounts for your AP department

Fund teacher-led practice

Teacher accounts support assignments and classroom results. Students complete their teacher’s assignments with free accounts. List the courses and teachers you want to include, then choose quantities for one teacher, an AP department, or several departments together.

Choose independent study separately

Sponsored student accounts are optional for independent study beyond teacher-led assignments. Include them when your school wants to fund students’ use of the study library on their own. Teacher and student volume discounts are calculated separately in checkout.

Plan your department rollout

Identify who will receive the setup link and assign purchased accounts. Choose the teachers, courses, and start date for your first assignments. Teachers review scores and feedback, then use classroom results to plan follow-up practice.

Annual teacher pricing

1–4 teacher accounts
$129 each / year
5–24 teacher accounts
$99 each / year
25+ teacher accounts
$69 each / year

For example, five teacher accounts cost $495 per year. Students complete those teachers’ assignments with free accounts. Optional sponsored student accounts add a separate cost.

Keep student reasoning central to the practice plan

Minnesota MDE’s AI guiding principles distinguish a learning aid from a substitute for student thinking. They involve educators, students, and families in decisions and recommend identifying learning needs before purchasing tools. For an AP department, describe what students will do independently and how teachers will use feedback to support further learning. Include the district’s privacy and technology team so the proposed activities can be reviewed within existing school expectations.

  • Which AP skill needs practice, and what part of the assignment will require students to demonstrate their own reasoning?

  • How will teachers explain permitted assistance and involve students and families in understanding classroom expectations?

  • What local privacy review, staff preparation, and purchasing steps are needed before students begin using the resource?

Bring reviewers a sample assignment that shows independent work and teacher follow-up. Ask purchasing to confirm the approved teacher count after the district agrees on the planned use.

From department plan to purchase

  1. Prepare an instructional plan and quote

Choose teacher quantities and any optional sponsored student accounts. Checkout calculates the annual price and lets you download a quote for your business office. Include the courses, quantities, and planned start date. Quotes are valid for 30 days, so check the date before your office issues a purchase order.

  2. Gather your district’s review packet

Ask your office which documents it needs, such as a signed W-9, privacy agreement, accessibility information, or security documentation. Include your district name and its required forms. The document request form opens an editable email draft; send that draft to submit your request.

  3. Complete the purchase and assign accounts

Your office can pay by card or arrange a purchase order using the quote ID. After Fiveable receives and reviews your PO, we send a setup link while your business office arranges payment. If you pay by card or bank transfer, we send the link after payment is confirmed. Use it to assign purchased accounts when teachers are ready.

Minnesota school purchasing questions

Students complete teacher-led assignments with free accounts. Purchase teacher accounts for the teachers who will assign work. Sponsored student accounts are optional for independent study beyond those assignments. Choose those quantities separately in checkout.

Look at the actual task: what must students explain or produce themselves, and how will they use feedback afterward? Minnesota’s guiding principles put that distinction at the center of responsible classroom AI use.

Yes. Request documents for your district through the purchasing form. Include your district’s privacy agreement or vendor forms so Fiveable can review your office’s requirements.

Yes. Download a quote from school checkout, then have your business office submit its purchase order with the quote ID. Quotes are valid for 30 days. After Fiveable receives and reviews the PO, we send a setup link while the office arranges payment. Your district’s approval and purchasing procedures still apply.
