Custom connectors are available on Claude plans. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds connectors for the organization.

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector. Name it Fiveable for AP Teachers and paste the server URL.
  3. Select Connect and sign in with your Fiveable teacher account. Read what Fiveable asks to do, then approve.
  4. Start a new chat, turn on Fiveable for AP Teachers from the + menu under Connectors, and ask: What can you do with my Fiveable account?

Claude loads Fiveable’s tool list fresh in each new chat, so our updates show up without any steps from you.

This only reads your workspace, so it’s a safe first test. Look for a Fiveable tool call and a summary of your classes and grading to confirm it’s connected.

Another app that connects to remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in can use the same server URL. Menus differ by app, so follow that app’s own guide for adding a remote server.

Fiveable for AP Teachers is tested in Claude and ChatGPT. Gemini adds custom apps only through Gemini Spark on eligible personal Google accounts (school accounts can’t), and Fiveable hasn’t been verified there. If your AI app can’t add it, the teacher workspace at fiveable.me/assignments does the same grading and building on the website.

Without a plan

Your account includes three assignments with student work. An assignment uses one only when its first student submits work, and a grading session for work done outside Fiveable uses one when grading starts. Building, drafting and publishing never use one.

With a teacher plan

Nothing counts against an allowance. Without one, your chat points you to fiveable.me/assignments for plan options once the included assignments are used.

Student names

Students appear as a first name, last initial and an anonymous handle. Essay text reaches your AI app only when you ask to read one.

No. Fiveable scores each response on the AP rubric for its question type, out of that type’s AP point total. Your AI app passes those scores on as drafts. It won’t grade work itself, give its own read of a score, or offer a different scale. If you disagree with a score, you change it.

The results of the tools it calls: class summaries, scores and short student names with anonymous handles. Essay text only when you ask to read one. Student emails and account ids aren’t sent to it. Your AI provider’s own privacy settings apply to your chat.

Yes, any time. On your Fiveable account page, go to Integrations, then Connected AI apps, and remove the app labeled Fiveable for AP Teachers. Your classes, assignments and grading sessions stay in your workspace.
