Definition

The supreme law of the United States that outlines the structure and powers of the federal government and guarantees certain rights to the people.

Analogy

Think of the Constitution as a rulebook for a board game. It sets up how the game is played (how government functions), what moves are allowed (powers of different branches), and ensures everyone gets a fair turn (protects individual rights).
