Bituminous coal
Definition
Bituminous coal is a type of coal that is intermediate in rank between sub-bituminous coal and anthracite coal. It has a relatively high carbon content and is commonly used for electricity generation and industrial processes.
Analogy
Think of bituminous coal as the "Goldilocks" of coals - not too soft like sub-bituminous, and not too hard like anthracite. It's just right for producing energy efficiently!
