Definition

Antimicrobial-resistant gonorrhea is a strain of the sexually transmitted infection gonorrhea that has developed resistance to multiple antimicrobial drugs. This makes it harder to treat and increases the risk of complications such as infertility or pelvic inflammatory disease.
