Definition

A 1D (or one-dimensional) array is the simplest form of an array that stores elements sequentially. It represents information along a linear or single dimension.

Analogy

Imagine you have several books stacked on top of each other on your desk. Each book has its own unique position from left to right, just like how elements are stored in sequential order in a 1D array.
