Publish and copy the student link
Make the assignment live and copy the link students will open.
Quick answer
Open the assignment, review Settings, and select Publish. Under How will you share this with students?, choose Copy the student link, then publish and copy. You can copy the same link again from the published assignment or the Assignments list.
What to do
Finish the draft
Confirm the title, instructions, sections, and settings. Wait for Saved.
Select Publish
Use Publish from the Settings tab or the assignment header flow.
Choose Copy the student link
In How will you share this with students?, select Copy the student link and confirm the publish action.
Paste the link where students will find it
Paste it into your LMS, email, class site, or another channel. Test the link in a signed-out browser window if you want to confirm the student entry screen.

Test the shared link in a student view and make sure the expected assignment opens. Copy it again later
Open the published assignment and select Copy link, or use Copy student link from its row in Assignments.

A published assignment keeps its sharing actions in the header, including Copy link.
What students see
Students open the link, sign in or create an account, and select Start assignment. A class-specific link asks them to join the class first.
If something is not working
The copied link opens the wrong assignment.
Return to the correct row in Assignments and use Copy student link from that row. Replace the old link wherever you posted it.
Students can open the link but cannot submit.
Open the assignment and check its status. Change Closed to Collecting responses if you want to accept new work.
