Posterior talofibular ligament

Definition

The posterior talofibular ligament is a strong, fibrous tissue that connects the talus bone in the ankle to the fibula, one of the bones in the lower leg, at their posterior (back) aspects. This ligament plays a crucial role in stabilizing the ankle joint and limiting its movement to prevent excessive motion that could lead to injury.
