Definition

This term refers to the period in African history from 500 AD to 1500 AD, following the end of the classical era. It was a time of significant political, economic, and cultural development across the continent.

Analogy

Think of Post-Classical Africa as a bustling city that's just starting to grow. Just like how different neighborhoods in a city develop their own unique cultures and economies over time, different regions in Africa were developing distinct political systems, trade networks, and cultural practices during this period.
