Discrimination and Racism
Definition
Discrimination refers to treating individuals differently based on their perceived group membership rather than their individual merits. Racism is a specific form of discrimination based on race, where one racial group is believed to be superior to others.
Analogy
Imagine you're picking teams for a game. Discrimination would be like choosing players based on their shirt color rather than their skills. Racism, as a type of discrimination, would be like believing that people wearing red shirts are inherently better at the game than those wearing blue shirts.
