Definition

Strong, often blind adherence to a particular party, faction, cause, or person.

Analogy

Imagine being a die-hard fan of a sports team. No matter how they perform, you always cheer for them and defend them against critics. That's similar to partisanship in politics - unwavering support for a political party regardless of its actions or policies.
