Ethnic Cleansing

Definition

Ethnic cleansing is the systematic and forced removal, killing, or displacement of particular ethnic, racial, or religious groups from a specific geographic area with the intent to establish an ethnically homogeneous region.

Analogy

Imagine you have a bag of mixed candies - chocolates, gummies, hard candies. Now someone comes along and decides they only want chocolates in the bag. So they remove all other types of candies until only chocolates remain. This is similar to ethnic cleansing but on a much more horrific scale involving human lives.
