Zero Population Growth

Definition

Zero population growth refers to a state where the birth rate and death rate in a population are equal, resulting in no net increase or decrease in the total number of individuals.

Analogy

Imagine a water tank with a small hole at the bottom. If the amount of water flowing into the tank is equal to the amount leaking out, then there will be zero change in the water level. This is similar to zero population growth, where births and deaths balance each other out.
