Strip Farming

Definition

Strip farming is an agricultural practice where different crops are grown in alternating strips or bands across a field. This method helps reduce soil erosion by providing ground cover while maximizing crop diversity.

Analogy

Picture a patchwork quilt made up of different colored fabric strips sewn together. In strip farming, fields are like quilts with alternating strips of different crops, protecting the soil just like fabric protects us from cold.
