Noise regulations and standards are guidelines or laws set by governments to control and limit the amount of noise produced in specific areas. They aim to protect public health, maintain quality of life, and prevent excessive noise pollution.
Think of noise regulations and standards as traffic rules for sound. Just like how traffic rules help regulate the flow of vehicles on the road, noise regulations and standards help regulate the level of sound in our environment.
Decibel (dB): A unit used to measure the intensity or loudness of sound.
Environmental Noise Pollution: The presence of excessive or unwanted sounds that can disrupt human activities or harm wildlife.
Occupational Noise Exposure: The level of noise that workers are exposed to in their workplace, which can have negative effects on their health if not controlled.
