Mosquito larvae are the immature stage of mosquitoes that live in water. They hatch from eggs and undergo several molts before transforming into adult mosquitoes.

Analogy

Think of mosquito larvae as tiny aquatic caterpillars. Just like caterpillars transform into butterflies, mosquito larvae go through a metamorphosis process to become adult mosquitoes.
