Lead poisoning
Definition
Lead poisoning occurs when high levels of lead accumulate in the body over time. It is usually caused by exposure to lead-based paints, contaminated water pipes, or certain occupational environments. Lead poisoning can have severe health effects on multiple systems within the body.
