Definition
A catalytic converter is a device in a vehicle's exhaust system that helps reduce harmful emissions by converting toxic gases into less harmful substances.
Analogy
Think of a catalytic converter as the "clean-up crew" for your car's exhaust. Just like how janitors clean up a messy classroom, the catalytic converter cleans up the harmful gases coming out of your car's engine.
