A liquid solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances in which the solute is uniformly distributed within the solvent.
Think of a liquid solution like a well-mixed smoothie. You can't pick out individual ingredients because they're all blended together evenly, just like how solutes are evenly distributed in a solvent.
Solute: The substance that gets dissolved in a solution.
Solvent: The substance that does the dissolving in a solution.
Concentration: The amount of solute present per unit volume of solvent.
