Definition

A lattice structure refers to an orderly arrangement of atoms, ions or molecules in a crystalline material or solid.

Analogy

Consider lattice structure as if it were like LEGO blocks neatly stacked together in rows and columns forming a larger structure. Each block represents an atom or molecule connected with others through bonds just like LEGO blocks connect together.
