Definition
To parametrize means to represent something using parameters or variables. In calculus, it often refers to representing curves or surfaces using equations involving parameters.
Analogy
Think of baking cookies using different cookie cutters. Each cookie cutter represents different parameters that determine the shape and size of each cookie.
