Growth refers to an increase in size, number or complexity of cells or whole organism over time due to cell division and differentiation.
Imagine growth as constructing a building. You start with one floor (a single cell), then add more floors (cell division) and differentiate the rooms for specific purposes (cell differentiation) like kitchen, bedroom etc.
Cell Division: The process by which a parent cell divides into two or more daughter cells.
Cell Differentiation: The process in which a cell changes from one cell type to another, usually becoming more specialized.
Mitosis: A type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus.
