Definition

The subacromial bursa is a fluid-filled sac located under the acromion of the shoulder, serving as a cushion to reduce friction between the acromion and the tendon of the supraspinatus muscle during arm movement. It plays a crucial role in facilitating smooth, pain-free motion of the shoulder joint.
