Gray matter

Definition

Gray matter is a major component of the central nervous system, consisting primarily of neuronal cell bodies, dendrites, unmyelinated axons, and glial cells. It is involved in muscle control, sensory perception such as seeing and hearing, memory, emotions, and speech.
