Definition

Diapedesis is the process by which white blood cells (leukocytes) move through the walls of capillaries and enter the tissues to reach sites of infection or injury. It involves squeezing between endothelial cells that line the blood vessels, allowing these immune cells to exit the bloodstream and participate in immune response.
