AP World History: Modern

Global conflicts, most notably the two world wars, were total wars that featured new technology from industrialization. In AP World, we focus on the causes and effects of these two global conflicts, many of which are shared. For WWI causes, remember M.A.I.N. (militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism). The effects of WWI and the Treaty of Versailles, combined with many of the M.A.I.N. factors, then catalyzed WWII. Keep in mind this war was fought on two fronts, in Europe and in Asia (due to colonies), against German and Japanese expansion respectively.
