what the results show

5s drive the gap
47.1% of reported scores were 5s — the subject-matched national share was 17.8%. Scores of 4 or 5 made up 83.8% of the survey distribution.

very few 1s and 2s
Just 3.5% of reported scores were a 1 or 2, compared with 28.3% nationally.

steady gains over 2025
Qualifying scores rose 1.1 points, 4s and 5s rose 4.0 points, and the average score rose from 4.16 to 4.27.

Half of respondents rated Fiveable's impact on their score an 8–10 out of 10.

methodology and limitations
Read these results as a transparent summary of survey respondents, not a controlled research study. The comparison source is the College Board's official 2026 AP score distributions.
who could respond
The 2026 survey was a public, voluntary survey shared with Fiveable users after AP scores were released. A Fiveable login and paid subscription were not required.
what the pass rate measures
Each completed response could include more than one AP exam. The pass rate divides valid reported scores of 3, 4, or 5 by all valid reported scores from 1 through 5. It is an exam-level rate, not the percentage of students who passed every exam.
how the national comparison works
We use College Board's official 2026 score distribution for each AP subject, then weight every score band to match the mix of subjects in Fiveable's survey. This keeps the comparison from being driven by a different mix of AP exams.
what we don't claim
The survey is self-reported, voluntary, and self-selected. Scores were not independently verified. These results describe the people who chose to respond — they don't prove Fiveable caused a higher score or represent all Fiveable users.

This page contains aggregate percentages only. It does not publish response counts, names, contact information, demographic breakdowns, or free-response answers.

Percentages are rounded to one decimal place on this page. Every rate is calculated before rounding, so bands may not sum to exactly 100%.

The 2025 survey used the same score-level pass-rate calculation. Different students chose to respond each year, so read year-over-year changes as directional.
