Critique lives in Unit 1 (Investigate), Topic 1.2 (Inquiry-Guided Investigation), and supports two learning objectives. AP Art Design 1.2.A asks you to document how inquiry guides your sustained investigation, and critique feedback that changes your direction is some of the clearest evidence of that. AP Art Design 1.2.B asks you to document investigation of viewers' interpretations, which is literally what a critique produces. Because AP Art & Design is scored on a portfolio rather than a sit-down exam, critique matters in a practical way too.
