Brodmann’s areas are regions of the cerebral cortex defined by their distinct cellular composition and organization, which correlate with various functional roles in the brain. These areas were mapped out by Korbinian Brodmann in the early 20th century based on their cytoarchitectonic (cellular structure) characteristics.
