Skeletal structures are simplified diagrams used in organic chemistry to represent the framework of molecular bonds in organic compounds, primarily focusing on carbon atoms and their connections. These structures omit symbols for carbon atoms at the vertices and do not always show hydrogen atoms, making complex molecules easier to visualize and draw.
