Anti conformation

Definition

Anti conformation is a specific arrangement of atoms in an alkane where the two largest groups are positioned 180 degrees apart from each other on adjacent carbon atoms, minimizing steric hindrance. This conformation is considered the most energetically favorable for linear alkanes due to reduced electron repulsion.
