Trusteeship Council

Definition

The Trusteeship Council is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations, established to oversee the administration of territories placed under international trusteeship. Its goal was to ensure that governments responsible for administering Trust Territories took adequate steps to prepare them for self-government or independence.
